NRC slates open house on Newport, Michigan, power plant

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) said Tuesday it will conduct a open house June 18 on the 2014 performance of the Fermi Nuclear Power Plant in Newport, Michigan, operated by DTE Electronic Co.  The open house is slated to run from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Monroe County Courthouse Board of Commissioners’ Chambers in Monroe, Michigan. Black & Veatch helps DTE Energy gain NRC approval for Michigan plant

DTE Energy received Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) approval, with the help of Black & Veatch’s nuclear power team, for the construction and operation of a new reactor at the Fermi Unit 2 nuclear power plant in Newport, Michigan, Black & Veatch said  Wednesday. AREVA, UK hold Paris gathering on decommissioning, waste management projects

AREVA said Wednesday that it partnered with U.K. Trade and Investment to hold a decommissioning and waste management supplier event in Paris.
