Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd. (MHPS) will provide a 97-megawatt steam turbine power-generation system to be used to process pulp and paper production in a Sumatra, Indonesia, mill.
The generation system will be used by the pulp and paper mill as an in-house power source, according to an MHPS press release. The low-pressure steam will help supply the mill's production with a back pressure turbine to supply low-pressure steam and generate power, the release said.
MHPS will also deploy engineering staff to the mill to help facilitate the equipment's installation as well as testing process, according to the company.
The steam turbine will be manufactured by Qingdao Jieneng Steam Turbine Group Co. Ltd., MHPS' partner in China, with MHPS supplying the core components including the steam turbine along with the generator.
According to the news release, the company has also supplied six sets of steam turbine power-generation systems in Indonesia and China for the paper mill group.
MHPS, headquartered in Yokohama, Japan, is a global thermal power generation systems and environmental technology business.
