The Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC) has approved Georgia Power's latest Vogtle Construction Monitoring (VCM) Report, which includes $148 million in costs, Georgia Power said late last week.
The VCM covered construction progress and investments tied to the Plant Vogtle expansion project made between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2015.
The company said the project to construct Vogtle Units 3 and 4 has reached over 60 percent of its contractual milestones. Recent milestones include the placement of 750 cubic yards of concrete at the containment area for unit 3 and the installation of shield building panels.
Unit 3 at the facility, near Waynesboro, Georgia, is expected to be completed by June 2019, and Unit 4 will follow in June 2020.
Georgia Power shares ownership of Plant Vogtle with Oglethorpe Power Corp., Dalton Utilities and the Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia.
