As of Monday, Michelle Reichert became the new deputy enterprise manager at Consolidated Nuclear Security LLC.
CNS is the managing and operating contractor for two national security complexes: the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas, and the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Reichert primarily will work at the Pantex Plant and share leadership duties with CNS President and CEO Morgan Smith, including communications with employees, customers and other stakeholders. Reichert also will coordinate activities between the two complexes to ensure they are aligned in the best interests of CNS and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
Reichert holds a bachelor's in biology and chemistry from Viterbo University in Wisconsin and a master's in radiological engineering and health physics from the University of Florida.
Reichert has worked in different sectors within the Department of Energy for the past 28 years. As site manager and deputy general manager at Pantex, she ensured clear communication in operations, plutonium pit storage, high explosives and other areas surrounding nuclear weapons. In addition to working with production and analytical chemistry at Y-12, she also worked closely with employees, striving to optimize their performance and well-being in her role as vice president of environment, safety and health.
Though she will continue to concentrate on employee and customer communications, Reichert will add to her responsibilities, analyzing and organizing operations between both complexes as she strives to achieve successful collaboration between the facilities, thus furthering the ends of CNS and NNSA.
