The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said this week that it is accepting presentations for the Third International Conference on Nuclear Knowledge Management (NKM) through Sunday, Feb. 28.
The conference will take place Nov. 7-11 at IAEA headquarters in Vienna.
The conference will focus on nuclear plant operations, decommissioning and environmental remediation, managing new-build projects and programs, non-power nuclear science and applications, regulatory compliance, and nuclear research and development. Information and records management also will be discussed.
“Effective knowledge management throughout the long life cycles involved in nuclear technologies and facilities is at the core of safe, efficient and sustainable operation in the nuclear sector,” John de Grosbois, head of the IAEA's Nuclear Knowledge Management Section, said.
Discussions also will focus on the management of spent radioactive fuel and the development of nuclear power programs in less-developed countries.
