AREVA said this week that it has teamed up with Structural Integrity Associates (SIA) to provide repair services for boiling-water reactors (BWR) in the U.S., as well as on- and off-site analysis and replacement of key components.
AREVA said in a blog post that the teams in its repair and maintenance division are experienced in working with core spray piping, feedwater spargers, reactor vessels, steam dryers and separators, among other items.
SIA can add its expertise in the analysis of internal components for BWR units and will be able to enhance the repair capabilities of AREVA technicians and other staff. SIA also can perform outage-preparation services and repair and replacement reviews as part of its BWR Vessel and Internals Project Inspection and Evaluation Guidelines.
AREVA said in a statement that the cooperative agreement between itself and SIA will allow both companies to be able to offer an integrated source for comprehensive BWR services that includes analysis and repairs. The company also said it will be made cost-effective as well.
AREVA specializes in many areas within the nuclear industry on an international scale.
