The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) said recently that it has initiated a consultation period for its proposed strategic and business planning.
Within the proposed plan are changes and transitions to sites and companies associated with the NDA, including the reclassification and model change of the Sellafield nuclear-fuel facility in the U.K. The NDA said in the draft business plan that the NDA has ownership over the facility while it undergoes decontamination and decommissioning. The NDA also details plans to incorporate Research Sites Restoration Limited (RSRL) into Magnox SLC and the establishment of NDA Archives Limited.
The NDA said in the draft plan that it will be required to optimize financing it receives and must be able to increase the amount of income generated by the agency. In the plan, the NDA also said it is committed to working with its contractors and government partners to implement efficiency in operations.
The full draft plan can be accessed at www.nda.gov.uk/publication/consultation-draft-business-plan-2016-to-2019.
There will be two web seminars to convey information about the plan during the consultation period. The first will take place on Friday, Jan. 29. The second will take place on Feb. 8. Each session will last an hour, and participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance at draftstrategy@nda.gov.uk.
You also can get information on webinar times and weblinks to the webinar at this email address.
The consultation period will end on Monday, Feb. 15.
