Potomac Edison serves approximately 250,000 customers in seven counties within Maryland and in certain areas of West Virginia. In this position, Beatty will serve as a liaison between the company and elected officials of the counties and will coordinate and foster community relations, as well as handle potential problems that might occur. The company said Beatty will replace John Emerick, who has retired. Beatty began working for the company in 1979 and most recently held the customer-support management position.
