The Nuclear Power Plant Life Management & Extension (NPPLME) 2015 will be taking place in Paris, France November 4 and 5.
The conference aims to facilitate discussions on issues facing the nuclear energy industry.
Major topics that will be covered at the conference include the research and development into components, their structural integrity and behavior; application of safety principles and those associated with the process of obtaining a license extension.
There will also be discussions regarding environmental standards implementation methods, age management programs and techniques and strategic actions to make to avoid a premature shutdown. They will also be discussing the concerns raised by members of the public relating to the life extension of nuclear power plants.
The conference will be taking place at the Mercure Paris La Villette. Speakers that are confirmed for this conference include: Abderrahim Al Mazouzi, project manager for EDF R&D; Kazuo Shimomura, deputy director-general and chief nuclear officer of the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD); Steffan Bergholz, AREVA, Inc., Fatigue Analysis section manager, and many others representing nuclear companies and international organizations.
In the report from Active Communications International, they highlight the extensions of the Dungeness B nuclear power station and the Takahama 1 and 2 nuclear reactors, operated by EDF and Kansai Electric Power Co. respectively.
