AREVA Inc. announced on Monday that they have reached agreements with four French labor organizations, which support approximately 75 percent of the company’s employees.
Agreements have been reached with CFDT, FO, CFE-CGC and UNSA-SPAEN. The company and these four organizations have been in negotiations since July in order to set measures that will last through 2017.
“I would like to commend the quality of social dialogue and the spirit of responsibility of our social partners,” AREVA Human Resources Senior Vice President François Nogué said. “The agreement that we signed today is based on the principle of voluntary participation. It secures the support for employees who will voluntarily leave to pursue professional projects or retirement, and it reinforces the internal mobility program within the company.”
This set of agreements and their respective negotiations were focused on areas including the protection and transfer of competencies that are important for the company, equity in programs implemented by all entities affected by these agreements and the social responsibility of these programs, which includes pension rights being exercised in full in cases of voluntary separation. Entities affected by these terms include AREVA BS, AREVA Mines, AREVA NP SAS, EURODIF Production, SET and AREVA NC.
Earlier this year, the company announced that it would be reducing the French workforce in the company by 3,000 individuals.
