Black & Veatch awarded USAID contract

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded Black & Veatch (B&V), an infrastructure- building company, a five-year contract Thursday.

Under the contract, Black & Veatch will assist USAID in supplying services relating to water, energy, environmental and telecom applications in developing countries. They will also serve in engineering and construction management roles.

“Black & Veatch has provided key services to USAID for 56 years and is proud to be a partner in their mission to improve lives around the globe,” Bill Van Dyke, Black & Veatch president of Special Projects, told Power News Wire. “This contract will spur growth and bring much needed infrastructure to developing nations. The benefits of these projects will be felt for decades to come.”

In addition to Black & Veatch, eight other companies were also selected by USAID for this project, totaling $600 million.
