Nuclear Energy Insider, organizers for the Nuclear Decommissioning and Used Fuel Strategy Summit, announced on Monday that Kelly Trice and Ed Avella will be speaking at the event taking place Oct. 5 and 6.
Trice is the president of power business at CB&I, and Avella is the director of decommissioning activity at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) with Southern California Edison (SCE).
"We have seen unprecedented interest in the conference this year," Siobhan O'Meara, senior project director at Nuclear Energy Insider, said. "The level of support from industry leaders highlights the growing size of the market and demonstrates the huge importance of cross-industry collaboration."
The summit offers leaders and experts in the nuclear power industry to chance to meet and discuss the challenges facing the sector and developments. It also will allow attendees the chance to network. Many companies will be represented over the course of the two-day summit.
Attendees also will receive information on the most recent nuclear plants to be shut down, and the decommissioning and spent fuel management and planning processes to take place in 2016. During this session, participants will explore what would be beneficial to see from U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission rulemaking regarding spent fuel management and decommissioning.
Both Trice and Avella will address approximately 250 company executives. The summit will take place at the Charlotte Ritz-Carlton Hotel in North Carolina.
Those wishing to register will receive a $200 discount if they sign up by Friday.
