NexGen Energy, Ltd. released information regarding the radioactivity at its Rook I drilling project at the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan on Wednesday.
So far, the company has drilled five holes and has found a significant amount of mineralization in the Arrow Zone. It also reported that A2 and A3 have had their strike lengths increased to 984 feet and 968 feet, respectively.
"The team is obviously excited as to the implications that this latest batch of results has on the size and future growth of the Arrow zone," Leigh Curvyer, CEO of NexGen, said. "These holes have tripled the length of the A2 and A3 high-grade cores. The drilling methodology of wide step outs continues to intersect significant mineralization. The footprint demonstrates Arrow is a large continuous system of mineralization in both the A2 and A3 shears, and is open in all directions. We have a significant amount of additional drilling to perform before we even begin to understand the full scale of Arrow.”
The Arrow Zone consists of an area of 2,116 feet by 705 feet. The Rook I drilling project consists of five drilling rigs. The AR-15-53c1 hole intersected a total of 192 feet of composite mineralization and included 17 feet of off-scale radioactivity.
"We are very pleased to be witnessing such strong continuity of mineralization and consistent growth with these aggressive southwest step outs," Garrett Ainsworth, NexGen vice president of Exploration and Development, said.
