Eros Resources Corp. announced Wednesday that it has discovered a zone of uranium mineralization in the Murphy Lake joint venture area in the Athabasca Basin.
This discovery was made after a drill hole intersected with material consisting of 0.2 percent eU308, a radiometric equivalent to uranium ore, over a 7.5-yard area.
The area is approximately 19 miles from McClean Lake. The company holds 41.06 percent interest in the with Denison Mines Corp. who performed the drilling. According to the report, there are three other drill holes in the area that have been completed and this most recent one is the only one to have intersected with uranium material.
Despite this, the company states that with alteration and the structure of the geologic layers, this area has a high probability to be a highly prospective system. Follow-up drilling will take place in January.
The company is based in Canada and focuses on the development and discovery of valuable mineral deposits in North America. It was previously Boss Power Corp. and -- as of Wednesday -- has changed its name to Eros Resources Corp.
