Newspaper names NEI to Top Workplaces in D.C. list

The Washington Post has named the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) on its list of Top Workplaces in 2015.

NEI was ranked No. 44 out of 317 total nominations, the group said Monday.

The newspaper surveyed workers at companies and organizations with a presence in the Washington, D.C., area,  with assistance from WorkplaceDynamics, LLC. Employees were asked whether they felt appreciated by management and whether they enjoy working with their colleagues.

"NEI thrives because we believe the most satisfied and engaged employees are those who enjoy their work environment, have good camaraderie with their colleagues, are able to maintain a vibrant work-life balance, have good health and wellness, are provided opportunities to grow their knowledge and skills and feel that they are directly achieving our mission and vision," NEI President and CEO Marvin Fertel said. "NEI actively promotes all of these elements through targeted, proactive programs."

 NEI said this is the first time that the institute participated in this evaluation. A total of 82 NEI employees participated in the survey.

"This award demonstrates the success of our commitment to a healthy, productive work environment. We are devoted to continuous improvement in all facets of our work," Fertel said.
