Flowserve Corp. said Friday it will introducie a new liquid ring compressor, the SIHI KPHX, at the ACHEMA 2015 international conference running through 19 in Frankfurt, Germany.
This new compressor utilizes two impellers and features three stages of compression that can reach 12 bars of pressure.
"This modern compressor design meets customer requirements for a safer, more efficient liquid ring compressor that reduces the need for service and maintenance," Flowserve Vice President of Sales
Erich Mohrdieck said. "Since the bearings and mechanical seals are arranged outside the pump, they can easily be replaced without having to dismantle the complete compressor. Special heavy-duty cranes or tools are not required, and pipework can usually remain connected to the unit."
With the bearings and seals located outside of the pump, sealing technology and double shaft design, the compressor is able to provide a safe means of compressing hazardous or explosive materials.
The company states that the compressor is compliant with NACE Standard MR 0103 and upon request can be made to comply with ANSI/NACE MR 0175/ISO 15156 in order to be able to manage acidic gases.
Flowserve Corp., a provider of flow products and services, acquired SIHI Group, which specializes in vaccum and liquid pumps, in January.
