FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Co. (FENOC) recently named 26-year nuclear industry employee Michael Yeager as director of technical and lab services at the company's BETA Laboratory in Mayfield, Ohio.
Yeager will oversee the lab’s services, including electronics refurbishment, environmental and fuel analyses, fire and safety services, calibration and repair, metallurgical failure analysis and material identification. BETA provides services for FirstEnergy facilities and other commercial and industrial customers.
Yeager began his career at FENOC's Perry Nuclear Power Station, where he held positions in engineering and operations. He joined BETA Laboratory in 2005 to manage the lab's external business operations, major projects and financial reporting.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Youngstown State University in Ohio.
FENOC Vice President of Nuclear Fleet Support said Yeager’s familiarity with all aspects of BETA's operations and his high standards and leadership abilities will ensure the lab continues to deliver precise and timely services to its customers.
