According to a recent report, 70 nuclear reactors were being built by the end of 2014, and an additional 96 more nuclear reactors were submitted to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in a report.
IAEA data shows that 26 of the 70 constructed reactors were located in China. Nine nuclear reactors were based in Russia, five in South Korea, and five in the U.S. The remaining nuclear power reactors were located in Belarus, Brazil, Argentina, India, France, Finland, Slovakia, Japan, Pakistan, the Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates.
Fifty-nine of these reactors are classified as pressurized water reactors. Four of the nuclear reactors are pressurized heavy water reactors, four reactors are called boiling water reactors, two are considered fast-breeder reactors and one reactor located in China is categorized as a high-temperature gas-cooled reactor.
According to the IAEA, the data is a result of the agency’s Power Reactor Information System (Pris). This database is a resource about all of the nuclear power reactors around the world. The information includes performance history, specification, operational reactors, decommissioned reactors and reactors still under construction.
Further details are available in IAEA's recently released “Nuclear Power Reactors in the World” report.
