The
Montpelier, Vermont, Public Service Department announced that the Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel will meet Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at Brattleboro Union High School, 131 Fairground Road in Brattleboro.
Jay Tarzia, who serves as the executive director of Radiation Safety and Control Services (RSCS), will also host a special presentation on dry cask storage to be followed by a panel review and a public comments and questions discussion.
The agenda also includes updates on the Vermont Yankee decommissioning process from Entergy and state agencies;
Q&A sessions on Entergy and state decommissioning activities; and review and approval of January meeting minutes.
Based in Stratham, New Hampshire, RSCS has handled aspects of every nuclear plant decommissioned in the past 15 years. Their operations span all stages of the decommissioning process, including pre-planning, engineering, radiation waste management, and land release for public use. Other RSCS operations include health physics consulting, instrument sales, service and calibration, and training services.
All meetings of the Nuclear Decommissioning Citizens Advisory Panel are open to the public.
