Fortune magazine ranked Dominion No. 1 under electric and gas utilities in its annual "Most Admired" companies survey, Dominion said on Tuesday.
"We are pleased to receive this honor on behalf of our customers, communities, employees and shareholders," Thomas Farrell, Dominion's chairman, president and CEO, said. "Our 14,500 employees' dedication and commitment to the success of the company have made this recognition possible."
Fortune's "Most Admired" rankings are based on surveys completed by industry executives, board members and analysts.
The magazine evaluated 15 electric and gas utilities in nine categories. Dominion finished first in the categories of people management, use of corporate assets, quality of management, financial soundness and long-term investment value. The company also placed second in three categories and third in another category.
Dominion has made Fortune's list in each of the past 10 years, placing second in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
