Uravan Minerals Inc. said recently that it will focus its uranium exploration efforts on its Outer Ring property in the Athabasca Basin’s Cable Bay structural corridor.

The area features a promising ORX surface geochemical anomaly (ORX Anomaly).

“The ORX Anomaly is a well-defined potentially significant uranium target,” Uravan CEO Larry Lahusen said. “Our experience tells us that discrete linear-trending surface geochemical anomalies are a precondition for identifying drill targets along coincident EM conductors.”

Lahusen said similar strategies have yielded positive results elsewhere, citing the Stewardson project.

“To move the ORX project forward, Uravan is seeking a financing partner,” Lahusen said. “I have discussed our exploration strategy with several potential financing entities. All progress will be announced in a timely manner.”

The company said a high-resolution airborne electromagnetic survey will need to be done to determine specific drill targets in the Outer Ring parcel.

Uravan is a Calgary-based company that focuses on exploration at likely uranium-deposit locations in areas that have not been explored or those that have not been explored to a large extent. The company’s current focus is within the Athabasca Basin in Canada.
