The Nuclear Industry Association of Turkey (NIATR) and the U.S. Nuclear Infrastructure Council (USNIC) recently signed a bilateral memorandum of understanding (MOU) late last week, agreeing to collaborate on nuclear-energy research and other activities that benefit both countries.

“We are confident this agreement will enhance collaboration between our respective industries by promoting a close and collegial relationship and cooperation for the safe and peaceful uses of nuclear technology and energy,” NIATR founder and Vice President Erhan Atay said.

The agreement, signed by Atay and USNIC CEO David Blee, stresses the importance of promoting sustainable development globally through the use of nuclear energy. The organizations signed the document at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., as a global finance market workshop, during which both nations gave presentations.

The MOU is specifically intended to increase dialogue between the two nations’ nuclear industries, as well as encourage information exchanges and communication.
