The new business, which will be headquartered in Lake Mary, Florida, will focus on digital power, energy storage and low-carbon power generation, according to a press release from MHPS.

“Tom has deep roots in the power industry and will lead a team of A-players to ensure that we’re collaborating with our customers as they negotiate the Change in Power that is underway in our industry.”

The newly formed company will also look to gain partnerships in the fields of academia, technology providers on new products such as improving energy efficiency with artificial intelligence and new generation battery storage technology, according to MHPS.

“The Power & Energy Solutions business will focus on innovation through customer collaboration, to present solutions to some of the most significant challenges that our industry is tackling today,” Cornell said in the news release.
