Terrestrial Energy appoints E. James Reinsch to advisory board

Terrestrial Energy, Inc. recently appointed E. James Reinsch to its international advisory board.

Reinsch is a prominent executive in the field of nuclear power project management with 40 years of experience in the industry. He previously was president of Bechtel Power’s global nuclear power business and currently sits on the board of Duke Energy.

During his 40 years with Bechtel, he also directed the company’s global nuclear operations, presided over Bechtel Canada Company, and managed large regions in the United States and Southwest Asia.

“The global energy industry is ready to adopt a new energy technology that is cheaper than coal, and Terrestrial Energy’s IMSR offers that possibility,” Reinsch said. “Terrestrial Energy has impressed me with their practical approach toward technology and business execution. I am honored to be a part of this exciting project and to help bring it to fruition.”

Terrestrial Energy  plans to deploy its proprietary Molten Salt Reactor, a small modular design, with models ranging from 80 MWth to 600 MWth, within the next decade. 

The company will host an Integral Molten Salt Reactor workshop at the fifth annual Small Modular Reactor Summit 2015 in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 14-15.
