Huntington Ingalls Industries operates Newport News Shipbuilding, a company that, for more than 126 years, has carried on the legacy of American shipbuilding, crafting some of the most famous ships in American naval history with a diverse workforce of craftsmen, engineers and scientists. Newport News Shipbuilding builds U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines while also providing aftermarket services for both. The company became a division of Huntington Ingalls in 2011 after being a part of Northrop Grumman since 2001.
