A recent announcement from NuScale Power LLC states that the company has started its NuScale Diverse Energy Platform (NuDEP), which will emphasize its modular reactor technology as the nuclear solution for dependable power to various applications.

Recent studies have shown that NuScale Power ModuleTM is the best power answer for problems related to mission critical applications. Some of those studies include Renewables Study, Oil Refineries Study, Hydrogen Production Study and Desalination Study.

An additional study has begun to evaluate the use of NuDEP for the transition from coal to synthetic fuels or similar carbon-based, high-value products.

“A NuScale multi-module plant provides a unique energy platform suitable for integration with diverse applications because of its very high level of safety and its unique ability to tailor its electric and steam power outputs,” Dr. Jose Reyes, cofounder and chief technology officer of NuScale Power, said. “We are very excited about the expanded role that a NuScale Diverse Energy Platform can play in meeting clean energy, clean air and clean water goals for our nation. Such a platform could usher in a new era for nuclear power worldwide.”

Further details will be presented by Reyes at the HIS CERAWeek 2015 Energy Innovation Pioneer Showcase that will take place on April 23, 2015, in Houston, Texas.
