The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will be hosting a webinar regarding the annual assessment of the Oyster Creek nuclear power plant in New Jersey on Monday.

The NRC also stated that an accompanying public meeting will take place on May 28. The web broadcast is open to the public, but online advanced registration is required in order to participate.

“This webinar will be in addition to a public meeting we plan to hold in late May near the plant to discuss the plant’s performance,” NRC Region I Administrator Dan Dorman said. “We hope it will provide another means by which the public can learn about this subject, particularly those who are unable to attend the upcoming meeting.”

The webinar is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., during which the broadcast participants can view slides and put forward any questions through the web page’s interface. This meeting will cover the safety performance of the nuclear plant.

On the notice for the web meeting, they post system requirements for Windows, Apple and mobile device systems. Windows users should be running Windows XP or later, and Apple users should be running OS X 10.7 or later. Supported browsers are Internet Explorer 8.0 or later, Safari 3.0 or later, Mozilla Firefox 4.0 or later and Google Chrome 5.0 or later.
