Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit 1 issued the following announcement on July 5.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Jacob Dolecki as a resident inspector at the Nine Mile Point nuclear power plant in Scriba, N.Y. The two-unit plant is operated by Exelon Generation Company.

Dolecki began his NRC career in 2015 as a reactor engineer in theOffice of Nuclear Reactor Regulation at NRC headquarters in Rockville, Md.During that time, he performed duties as an operator licensing examiner andcontracting officer’s representative.

Prior to joining the NRC, Dolecki was a multi-disciplined engineer at the Bettis Atomic PowerLaboratory in West Mifflin, Pa. At Bettis, he provided engineering support for aircraft carrier andsubmarine spent nuclear fuel operations.

Dolecki is a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree inmechanical engineering and a master’s degree in nuclear engineering.

At least two NRC resident inspectors are assigned to each operating U.S. commercial nuclearpower plant. They serve as the agency’s eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections,monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public. Resident inspectorscan serve at a reactor site for up to seven years.

Dolecki joins Senior Resident Inspector Eric Miller and Resident Inspector Beth Sienel at NineMile Point.
