Georgia Power has released photos from the expansion project at Plant Vogtle near Waynesboro, Georgia, documenting recent progress in adding two reactors to the plant.

This includes a view from ground level of the CA01 module at the future Unit 3 reactor. The caption said this module houses two steam generators at the plant. There is also another image depicting the area in the module from a different vantage point.

The company also has released aerial views of the expansion site. Also documented are various projects within the overall construction, as well as workers carrying out various tasks at the site. The company updates images depicting the progress of the site’s construction on a monthly basis, and the image archive goes back to July 2009.

The company also recently announced that approximately 60 percent of contractual milestones have been met in the construction of Units 3 and 4. The company said that upon completion, Plant Vogtle  will be capable of generating enough electricity to meet the needs of 1 million typical homes and businesses.
