New personnel elected to NEI board, executive committee

The Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) recently named new members to its board of directors and executive committee.

Donald Brandt was elected chairman of the board. Brandt currently serves as president, CEO and chairman of Pinnacle West Capital Corp. Brandt also holds these positions at Arizona Public Service Co. (APS).

Pinnacle West’s website said Brandt has worked in the power industry for 20 years and also serves on the boards of the Nuclear Energy Institute, Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, Edison Electric Institute and Nuclear Electric Insurance Ltd.

Dominion Generation CEO Paul Koonce and Duke Energy Corp. President Dhiaa Jamil were elected to NEI’s executive committee.

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) President and CEO William Johnson was elected vice chairman of the NEI board.

Capital Dynamics, an independent global private asset management firm, completed the sale of a majority interest in its Beacon portfolio to TortoiseEcofin and S&B USA Energy. Each buyer has acquired a 49.5% ownership of the portfolio. Capital Dynamics retains a minority stake of 1%.
