Jacobs Engineering Group said recently that it has received a sub-contract from Savannah River Nuclear Solutions LLC to provide telecommunications services and maintenance to the Savannah River Site, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear-materials refinery near Aiken, South Carolina.

Jacobs Senior Vice President for Aerospace and Technology Darren Kraabel said the company was excited to continue providing telecommunications solutions at Savannah River.

“A direct result of our initiative and investments to grow our DOE portfolio, this work is part of a broader portfolio of DOE and National Nuclear Security Administration sites where Jacobs is delivering advanced and secure telecommunications solutions,” Kraabel said.

Jacobs will supply services, equipment and transportation to maintain and operate the facility’s telecom system, which consists of video, transport, unified-communications and data-networking systems, as well as voice-switching equipment, subscriber station equipment, distribution frames and ancillary equipment.
