IBC Advanced Alloys Corp. said on Monday that it will present technical research results at the Characterization and Quality Control of Nuclear Fuels (CQCNF 2015) Conference Dec. 1-3 in Hyderabad, India.

“The theme of the 2015 conference is ‘Nuclear Fuels — Recent Advances in Quality, Safety and Productivity,’ which
is a perfect fit for IBC’s (beryllium-oxide-enhanced) fuel,” Jim Malone, IBC’s vice president
of nuclear fuels, said. “IBC will present the benefits of BeO to enhance
thermal
conductivity, as well as describe the fuel-fabrication process and the
improved thermal conductivity resulting from
BeO additions.”

The company focuses on the manufacture and distribution of rare metal alloys and related products utilized in many industrial applications that include the nuclear energy industry.

IBC sponsored the research, which was conducted by Texas A&M University’s nuclear engineering department.

“IBC is honored to present at the CQCNF 2015 Conference and to meet with both industry participants and potential research and commercial partners,” Anthony Dutton, IBC’s president and CEO, said.

CQCNF 2015 is jointly organized by the Indian Nuclear Fuel Complex of the country’s Department of Atomic Energy and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
