Global Power Equipment Group, Inc. recently selected Robert Mills and Gary Taylor to serve on its board of directors.

Mills served as chief operating officer (COO) at Assured Guaranty, a financial guarantee insurance company up until his retirement earlier this year. Before that, he served 23 years with KPMG, a tax, audit and advisory firm.

“We expect Bob’s strong financial acumen, demonstrated by his 23 years with KPMG and his leadership roles in the global financial services industry, will prove valuable as we move forward with our strategy,” Board Chairman Charles Macaluso said. “We are focused on strengthening Global Power’s position as a well-respected provider of reliable and high quality products and services to the energy and natural gas power markets.”

Taylor serves as the COO for the SERC Reliability Corp. The company aims to promote and facilitate reliability of the bulk power system’s infrastructure in the southeastern region of the U.S. He previously served as group president at Energy Corp. before retiring in 2012.

“Gary’s long history of strategic leadership in the nuclear energy industry adds new perspective to the board relative to the view of the customer and provides a depth of operations knowledge that we expect to be of great worth for the company,” Macaluso said. “We are fortunate to have Gary and Bob join us at this critical juncture in our history.”
