Georgia Power’s board of directors recently elected Sloane Evans to lead its Human Resources (HR) organization, where she will manage the health and wellness, talent management, labor relations and HR delivery functions for the subsidiary of the Southern Company.

Having previously served as the director of HR, and concurrently as the vice president of HR and talent manager at Southern Company, Evans has 14 years of experience with the organization. These roles saw her leading the team behind the state’s largest job-producing project, the HR delivery for Plant Vogtle units 3 and 4, as well as other duties such as strategic initiatives and enhancement solutions for worker development.

“Sloane’s experience and leadership has helped elevate our talent development process to a new level,” Georgia Power Chairman,  President and CEO Paul Bowers. “She has a clear understanding of the talent and skills we need from both employees and managers to ensure Georgia Power continues to deliver world-class value to our customers.”

Evans will be taking over for Leonard Owens, who is retiring after working for Georgia Power for more than 35 years.
