Duke Energy Executive Vice President of Strategic Services A.R. Mullinax said this week that he plans to retire from the company effective May 1.

Mullinax, 61, has been with Duke Energy and its predecessor companies for 38 years.

Mullinax’s current role as VP of Strategic Services involves supply chains, information technology and administrative services.

Mullinax’s previous positions include chief information officer and vice president for information technology. He served as Duke’s integration executive in 2011, when he was responsible for managing the transition process after the merger between Duke Energy and Progress Energy.

“I’m grateful for A.R.’s steady leadership and commitment to Duke Energy,” Lynn Good, Duke’s chairman, president and CEO, said. “He has accepted many challenges throughout his career and has always delivered results for the company and our customers.”

Duke Energy has not yet named Mullinax’s replacement.

“While I have been privileged to work in a variety of areas and on several major projects over the past 38 years, the opportunity to work with so many wonderful people at Duke Energy has also been a great experience,” Mullinax said.
