Duke Energy announces 2015 Power Partners

Duke Energy unveiled the company’s 2015 Power Partners this week.

This designation awards businesses and other organizations that utilize energy in an efficient and responsible way.

“We are pleased to recognize these organizations for their wise use of energy,” Chris Edge, Duke Energy vice president for large business customers, said. “It’s exciting to collaborate with them and witness firsthand how they add value to their customers and their communities.”

Power Partners recognized by the company include: Bay Pines VA Healthcare System in St. Petersburg, Florida; Bausch & Lomb in Greenville, South Carolina; the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, the Forest Hills School District of Cincinnati, Ohio; Cisco Systems in Raleigh, North Carolina; Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings in Burlington, North Carolina; Crystal Photonics Inc. of Sanford, Florida; and Dairy Fresh LLC in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, among others..

Among energy-efficiency programs taken on by awardees, the company also said many that were awarded Power Partner awards worked with Duke to implement facility renovations that allowed for energy savings, and also worked to improve electrical infrastructure and utilize the company’s PowerShare program.

The Power Partner award was established by the company in 1992 to recognize energy-efficient businesses and other organizations.

Following the signing of the implementation agreement for the $300 million Independent Power Project in January 2020, and under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy in Saudi Arabia, ACWA Power today executed the official agreements for the 240 MW wind power project that will be located in the Absheron and Khizi regions.

Capital Dynamics, an independent global private asset management firm, completed the sale of a majority interest in its Beacon portfolio to TortoiseEcofin and S&B USA Energy. Each buyer has acquired a 49.5% ownership of the portfolio. Capital Dynamics retains a minority stake of 1%.
