Canadian mining company Cameco names Canfor CEO to board

Canadian uranium mining company Cameco said recently that it has named Don Kayne to the board of directors, effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Kayne
currently serves as CEO and president of Canfor Corp. and CEO of Canfor
Pulp Products Inc. Kayne also serves as a director and former board
chairman for the Forest Products Association of Canada, Council of
Forest Industries,
Alberta Forest Products Association and the BC Lumber Trade Council.
Kayne also serves on the Softwood Lumber Board, as well as chairman of
the Educating Girls of Rural China Foundation, which supports education
efforts for rural Chinese women.

“Don’s expertise doing business in developing markets, such as China, will be very valuable to Cameco,” Neil McMillan, chairman of the Cameco board, said. “He is connected to important emerging markets around the world, and we look forward to welcoming him to the board.”

Cameco specializes in the production of uranium and fuel services in Canada. The company said uranium fuel from Cameco has powered nuclear plants internationally. The company has exploration ventures in North America, Asia and Australia.
