The Belman Group announced on Friday that its fast-track production service was able to minimize the downtime for a nuclear power plant in Sweden.

By keeping a round-the-clock schedule, the team was able to complete the full process of designing, manufacturing and testing of expansion joints for nuclear reactors in a five-week period as opposed to the traditional 12 weeks that it would take under normal circumstances. Within this order the company also utilized their capability of integrating an inspection hatch into the expansion joint, allowing for easy access for inspection personnel.

The Belman Group specializes in the manufacture, design and production of metallic bellows and expansion joints for use in nuclear energy applications.

The group has manufacturing operations in Denmark and the U.K. and also has presence in Russia and Norway.

Documentation for this order was also completed within the five-week period. According to their announcement, approximately 1,000 pages of specifications and approximately 380 pages of other documentation were produced and delivered with the expansion joints.

Management of the project and frequent contact with the client were integral to the completion of this expansion joint order, so that it could be completed quickly and ensure that the product met the quality standards of the client.
