An award was presented to AREVA Inc. by the Tri- County Habitat for Humanity last week .

The award, which recognized and highlighted the nuclear energy company’s commitment and service to the local community organization, honored the company for their 13 years of kindness.

Habitat for Humanity, a nationwide non-profit organization built by volunteers, is responsible for constructing and rehabbing homes for families in need. To date, AREVA’s employees have donated more than 4000 workdays of volunteer labor to the organization and have completed well over 100 projects within the community.

A leader in nuclear energy and a growing contributor in the renewable energies sector, AREVA employs approximately 5,000 U.S. and Canadian workers and remains an industrial team player in supplying the most people with sustainable clean energy.

A special award was presented to AREVA employee John Veysey in appreciation of his leadership role within the organization. Back in 2012, Veysey proposed that Habitat participate in the IMPACT Day program, a decision that would ultimately expand Habitat’s service with AREVA’s support. Presently, The North American nuclear power company has led nearly 30 IMPACT Day projects by providing carpentry, roofing, plumbing, electrical repair and maintenance for the elderly and disabled.
