Alabama Power announced several changes to its leadership this week, naming and electing five vice presidents and one senior vice president, which will go into effect on March 28.

“These individuals bring extraordinary expertise and insight to our leadership team,” Mark Crosswhite, Alabama Power chairman, president and CEO, said. “Combined with our recent leadership changes, Alabama Power is in a strong position to meet our ongoing responsibilities to customers and stakeholders, and to tackle new challenges.”

The company announced two external hires — Myla Calhoun, who was general counsel and senior vice president for Regional Development and Public Policy at the Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) and will now be Alabama Power’s vice president of Charitable Giving, and Alexia Borden, who was a partner at Montgomery’s Balch & Bingham LLC and was elected as the vice president with responsibility for Governmental Affairs.

Vice President and Director of Corporate Real Estate Myrk Harkens will be the vice president responsible for Special Projects, Birmingham Division Area Manager Ashley Robinett will be vice president with responsibility for Corporate Real Estate, and Southeast Division Vice President Richard Hutto will be the vice president responsible for Regulatory Affairs.

Finally, Vice President of Governmental Relations Quentin Riggins will become senior vice president responsible for Governmental Corporate Affairs.
