SOUTHERN COMPANY: Thomas Duff elected to Mississippi Power Board of Directors

Southern Company issued the following announcement on April 19.

Mississippi Power announced today that Pine Belt businessman Thomas Duff, the co-owner of Duff Capital Investors, has been elected to the company’s board of directors, effective April 24.

“Thomas Duff is a highly successful business leader and a true Mississippi success story,” said Mississippi Power President and CEO Anthony Wilson. “His vision, leadership and business acumen will be a tremendous asset to our board of directors.”

Duff Capital Investors, owned by Duff and his brother Jim, is one of the largest private companies in Mississippi. Duff Capital Investors is comprised of companies that operate in more than 100 locations and employ approximately 10,000 workers.

“Mississippi Power shares the philosophy that’s guided our company since day one, and that’s to offer best-in-class service to your customers,” Duff said. “I’m excited to join Mississippi Power’s board of directors and work with their leadership team to foster an even brighter future for Mississippi.”

Duff also serves on the board of trustees of the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning and the advisory board of Trustmark National Bank in Hattiesburg.

Duff earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a native of Columbia and currently resides in Oak Grove.
