Horizon Nuclear Power hires new human resources, program directors

United Kingdom-based Horizon Nuclear Power hired two new members for its leadership team earlier this month.

Sue Stockton will serve as human resources director. Before this position, Stockton worked at Thales and British Nuclear Fuels Limited in human resource-related applications.

The company appointed civil engineer Carl Devlin as program director. Devlin has worked in many areas in the industrial sector as a civil engineer and served in executive positions with London Underground, Capita, Laing O'Rourke, BAA (Terminal 5) and Bechtel before joining Horizon.

"Both Carl and Sue bring enormous experience and expertise to Horizon that will be instrumental in moving the business forward,” Horizon Chief Operating Officer Alan Rayment said. “They will help ensure we develop the Wylfa Newydd project on time and on budget, and recruit and manage the right talent to enable us to do that."

Currently, Horizon is in the regulatory assessment process for the Wylfa Newydd power project in Wales. The company said approximately 5,400 megawatts of generating capacity is anticipated from the facility.
