Exelon employees again support National Volunteer Week

Exelon announced yesterday that company employees will embrace National Volunteer Week by devoting some 10,000 hours to their communities during the month of April.

Exelon employees, families and friends will be cleaning up parks, feeding the hungry and helping build homes for Habitat for Humanity. More than 2,000 members of the Exelon family are expected to participate in the activities, extending the company’s long history of charitable giving and service to civic and nonprofit organizations.

“At Exelon, we’re proud to support our employees’ dedication to giving back to their communities, both during National Volunteer Week and all year long,” Exelon CEO and President Chris Crane said. “By volunteering their time and energy to important causes and organizations, our employees are the ones who make Exelon such a strong community partner.”

This is the ninth straight year Exelon employees have supported National Volunteer Week, an annual, nationwide celebration of people working to improve their communities through service. All of Exelon’s businesses participate, including BGE and Constellation in Maryland, ComEd in northern Illinois, PECO in southeastern Pennsylvania, and Exelon Generation and Exelon Business Services Company in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Texas.
