Southern Company to release first quarter earnings April 29

Southern Company will release its first quarter earnings for 2015 at 7:30 a.m. EDT on April 29.

Following the release of the information, Thomas A. Fanning, chairman, president and CEO of Southern Company, and Chief Financial Officer Art P. Beattie will discuss the earnings during a conference call with financial analysts at 1 p.m. April 29.

A live webcast of the conference call will be available at www.southerncompany.com. A replay of the webcast will be available on the site for 12 months.

Southern Company, which owns electric utilities in four states in the Southeast, has more than 4.5 million customers and generates approximately 46,000 megawatts of energy. Along with its subsidiaries, the company is constructing the first new nuclear units to be built in a generation of Americans, and is a leading producer of clean, safe, reliable and affordable electricity in the U.S.

In addition, the company offers fiber optics and wireless communication services.

The U.S. Department of Defense and G.I Jobs magazine named Southern Company a top military employer. The company also is  listed by DiversityInc as a top company for blacks and was named the 2014 Top Employer for Hispanics by Hispanic Network.
