Obara appointed UEC's interim CFO

Corpus Christi, Texas-based Uranium Energy Corp. (UEC) has appointed Pat Obara to serve as its interim CFO, the company announced this past week.

Obara currently serves as the company’s vice president of administration. The previous CFO, Mark Katsumata, is leaving the company in order to pursue other opportunities.

Obara has previously served in the CFO position and prior to joining UEC he worked as a consultant to several companies. He specialized in finance, administration and corporate management. Obara earned a degree in building technology, land and construction economics from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are most appreciative for the services and insight that Mark brought to UEC,” President and CEO of UEC Amir Adnani said. “Concurrently, we are very fortunate that Pat Obara can take over the position and help minimize the transition effects. Pat served as the CFO of UEC for five years prior to Mark joining the team and is up to date and current regarding all key financial items regarding the Company.”

The company will be searching for a permanent replacement for the CFO position with aid from Obara and Katsumata.

UEC specializes in the mining and exploration relating to uranium.
