Entergy Louisiana awarded two commercial contracts.
Entergy Louisiana LLC announced on Wednesday that it has reached two commercial contracts within the state that would supply a combined 11.3 megawatts of electricity.

Of this total electricity package, 4.8 megawatts will be delivered to Jupiter GTl, which produces waxes and naphtha; with this power, it is expected to produce approximately 1,000 barrels of diesel fuel. Through this contract, the project is expected to create 29 direct positions and an additional 112 indirect positions.

The remaining 6.5 megawatts of power will be supplied to Boardwalk Louisiana Midstream in order to support the creation of a new salt cavern that would store products from the expansion of Sasol’s petrochemical operations.

"Entergy is proud to service these expanding companies, and we welcome them as an important part of Louisiana's industrial growth and expansion," Entergy Louisiana CEO Phillip May said. "Entergy is committed to helping attract, retain and expand new businesses and investments that offer long-term opportunities for not only those companies, but also for customers and the communities we serve.”

Entergy was selected as one of the top utilities for economic development by Site Selection magazine in 2014 after they made capital investments worth approximately $14.4 billion and created 7,200 jobs.
