Beaumont organization administer Power to Care program

Entergy Corp. announced Wednesday that its subsidiary Entergy Texas’ Power to Care program in Beaumont will receive administrative services from Some Other Place, a local support organization for the elderly and disabled.

"We are very pleased to expand the partnership we already have with Some Other Place and include the Power to Care," Paula Odom, customer service specialist for Entergy Texas, said. "Last year alone, we pledged nearly $89,000 and helped almost 500 customers in Beaumont with their energy bills."

The program offers to pay up to two energy bills for qualified customers who are either disabled or elderly. Prior to the partnership with Some Other Place, this program was managed by the Beaumont chapter of the American Red Cross.

Those seeking assistance may pick up applications at Some Other Place in Beaumont on Mondays and Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Some Other Place has served those in need and within the elderly and disabled communities in Beaumont since 1968. According to the announcement the organization provides utility assistance to approximately 5,000 families on an annual basis.
