Satz named TVA board member

The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) announced Aug. 13 that it has selected Eric Satz to serve on its board of directors.

“It’s a great honor to be selected to serve on the TVA board of directors,” Satz said. “I am a strong advocate for the economic growth of the Tennessee Valley and the role TVA plays in bringing jobs into the region. I look forward to supporting TVA’s efforts in economic development as well as its mission of providing affordable, clean power and environmental stewardship.”

Satz was originally nominated to serve in this position by President Barack Obama and had received unanimous approval by the U.S. Senate on Aug. 5.

Satz serves as a managing member with the Tennessee Community Ventures Fund, LLC, which he cofounded in 2009. He resides in Nashville and serves as an executive chairman of three companies within the portfolio of the Ventures Fund.

The TVA is an agency of the United States and is an electricity provider to business and distributor clients within seven states in the Southeastern United States. The agency is not funded by taxes or any other federal funding and is solely reliant on the sale of electrical power. They also provide flood control, land management and navigation services on the Tennessee River system.
