CNS to host Pantex Plant hiring event

Pantex and representatives from Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS), LLC and the Workforce Solutions Panhandle and Amarillo College are hosting a hiring event on Saturday.

The event will consist of an open house session that will go between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Amarillo College Business and Industry Center on Polk Street.

Applicants and attendees may create an application profile and apply for positions on the Pantex website prior to the event. Participants are asked to bring copies of their resumes and to be ready for onsite interviews. Participation is limited to those who are at or over the age of 18.

Pantex is a company that specializes in the nuclear weapons life extension programs, weapons dismantling and the storage and monitoring of plutonium pits. It is also involved in the development, fabrication and testing of explosive components. The company also operates the Y-12 site at Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This facility is responsible for the storage, processing and manufacturing of uranium for U.S. Naval and global non-proliferation purposes.

CNS assumed responsibility of both facilities as of September of 2014.

Representatives of CNS, the U.S. Department of Energy and the Nuclear Security Administration will be present and will be conducting interviews at the event.
