Terrestrial names new corporate development VP

Robin Rickman, formerly of Westinghouse Electric Co., was recently named vice president for corporate development at Terrestrial Energy.

Rickman has worked in the nuclear field for more than 40 years, both in the military and in the civilian power sectors.

He served in the U.S. Navy in numerous management positions as a supervisor of naval nuclear reactors and steam plant systems. He has also served as a reactor maintenance specialist, and has worked in research and development roles and in management.

"The move to Terrestrial Energy offers an exciting and very timely opportunity to be part of what I believe to be a new future for the nuclear industry created by today's advanced technologies," Rickman said. "... I am pleased to now join with the Terrestrial Energy team, which is devoted to bringing to life an advanced technology that represents a completely new paradigm for civilian nuclear energy - a paradigm based on cost-competitiveness, scalable, grid-independent energy that has an entirely new narrative for waste, safety and proliferation resistance."

In his new role, Rickman will be in charge of facilitating strategic relations with suppliers and clients.

Previously, he worked with the Idaho National Laboratory and the Braidwood Generating Station. His most recent position was with Westinghouse as the director of New Reactor Projects.
